LANG SUMMIT explores teaching, learning, and what it means to be human

LANG SUMMIT is a new concept created by André Hedlund and Rodolfo Mattiello. Geek buddies for years, board members of the BRAZ-TESOL Mind, Brain, and Education SIG, and founders of Chá Pedagógico, André and Rudy decided to team up once again to explore the connection between brain and language. This event’s proceedings will be donated to two charity organizations in Brazil

Andre Hedlund holds a BA in International Relations from PUC-GO and an MSc in Psychology of Education from the University of Bristol as s Chevening Alumnus. He is an Educational Consultant, Speaker, ELT Materials Writer, University Lecturer on Bilingualism and Cognition, and Academic Director of EdYOUfest. André is also a member of BRAZ-TESOL’s Mind, Brain, and Education SIG. He’s the author of The Owl Factor: Reframing your Teaching Philosophy, and he blogs at edcrocks.com.

Meet André

Rodolfo Mattiello holds a BA in Languages of Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas, Masters in Applied Linguistics of the University of Edinburgh specialized in Language Acquisition under the Usage-based perspective with interest in Cognitive Linguistics, specialization degree in Lesson Planning of University of Oregon, Education Technology for EFL Classes of Iowa State University and he also co-authored the book Formação de Professores (Paco Editorial). Founder of Mattiello Consultoria Acadêmica, a center for teachers’ development and BELíngue, an online English school.
